Inside Sardinia: A Day with Our Shapers
Step into our workshop on the Sardinian coast and you’ll hear it before you see it: the hum of tools, the soft rasp of sandpaper, and the quiet rhythm of waves breaking in the distance. This is where raw foam blanks are transformed into surfboards, each one carrying the fingerprint of the shaper behind it.
Our shapers begin their mornings with sketches, ideas, and a clear vision of how the board should feel under a surfer’s feet. Every curve, every contour is guided not just by experience, but also by intuition. It’s a balance between art and engineering—between precision measurements and a craftsman’s instinct.
As the day unfolds, resin and fiberglass come into play, layering strength and flexibility onto the shape. There’s a moment, as the sunlight catches the fresh coat of resin, when the board seems to glow with its own energy. That’s when we know it’s almost ready to leave the workshop and meet the ocean.
Spending a day with our shapers is more than just watching a process. It’s witnessing a passion, a tradition, and a connection to the waves that has been carried for generations here in Sardinia. Each surfboard tells a story, and that story begins long before the first ride.
